Making an appearance in the T Bone Burnett-produced album The New Basement Tapes, Marcus Mumford joins other notable artists like Jim James, Elvis Costello and many more for a Bob Dylan tribute album. Many of these lost lyrics date back to Dylan’s “Basement Tapes sessions.” The legendary collection is being revitalized and Marcus Mumford joining in literally made my week.
I think I shed a tear listening to this because it’s so good hearing Marcus Mumford’s voice again, even if he’s only covering a Bob Dylan song… Clearly I’m still having Mumford and Sons withdrawals.
The New Basement Tapes release date in the U.S. is November 11 so stay tuned for more. You can pre-order the album here.
