Swedish pop star, 23-year old Tove Lo is breaking into the American market and we couldn’t be happier. Tove Lo made a name for herself this previous summer as her 2013 single “Habits” hit the U.S. charts and made a splash. Not new to the big music scene, this singer-songwriter has written a number of hits for artists including Icona Pop, Girls Aloud, and Cher Lloyd. Tove Lo is a graduate of Stockholm’s prestigious Rytmus Music school, a launching pad for other young Swedish artists like Robyn, Erik Hassle, and Amanda Mair.
Full force ahead, her debut album Queen of the Clouds was just released in the U.S. on September 30th on Island Records, with a 2015 release date in the UK. Her debut album has a unique arrangement as the twelve tracks are separated into three sections, containing 4 songs each. The sections titled, “The Sex”, “The Love” and “The Pain” reflect on the themes of the songs which take listeners on an emotional journey of the highs and lows of a relationship.
Tove will begin touring her new album in Germany and the UK in late November and then will continue on to Australia. She just finished a small tour in the U.S., making it to a few major cities and performing on shows like Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers.

My favorite song off the album is “My Gun” as listed in last weeks New Music Tuesday post
