Today was a big day in Mumford world! ‘Believe’ me…this album is going to be something special. The new single, ‘Believe’, is a different sound for the band, but if the album is going to be anything like this single, I’m expecting great things. The banjos are gone, electric guitars are added, and Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane deliver without a doubt. Listening to any Mumford song is a bit of a religious experience for me, so naturally I was apprehensive but of course excited at the announcement of a new album, ‘Wilder Minds’ last week, and boy Mumford, I’m diggin’ this single.
‘Believe’ follows a story of a relationship, one individual has lost trust in the other and needs to ‘Believe’ the relationship is real and worth fighting for. The song starts off with a lyrical tune then about half-way through, that famous Mumford killer interlude kicks in with the drums. ‘Believe’ will have you jumping up in down and is sure to be a killer hit, especially at festivals were the band is headed this summer along with a few stopover tours.
Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think of the ‘new Mumford’ in the comments!
