Monday Mashup

The MTV Video Music Awards aired last night, before all that excitement began, Tori Kelly shared a little something to kick off the weekend. Excited for her first ever VMA performance, Kelly created a mashup of some of her favorite past VMA performances. She dabs a little of each song below:

Waterfalls- TLC
Try Again- Aaliyah
It's Gonna Be Me- 'N SYNC
Crazy In Love- Beyoncé feat. JAY Z
Lovestoned/I Think She Knows- Justin Timberlake

Turning our attention to Sunday night’s performance, Tori ABSOLUTELY killed it on stage. She put the music center stage in a night entangled with drama and incomprehensible speeches. She sang her summer hit, Should’ve Been Us, from her debut album Unbreakable Smile, swaying vocally back and forth between her live band version with a few acoustic moments.

Tori described her plans for her performance to MTV after her VMA rehearsals:

“…I really just wanted it to be about the song and the music, nothing too crazy stage-wise, at least with props and stuff like that. I wanted to focus on the simplicity of the music and strip it back.”  ~Tori Kelly

If you’re anything like me, the song ended with me jumping up and down yelling “YASSSSS GIRLLLL, YASSSSS” at my T.V. What can I say? TK don’t disappoint.
