How To Do Coachella From The Comfort Of Your Couch

Scroll down to content

A plane ticket to California, hotel, car expense, and festival expense… or plugging a few cords into my t.v. and sleeping at my home. For the past five years I’ve enjoyed Coachella from the comfort of my own couch. This world-renown music and arts festival is broadcasted over the internet each year and I take full advantage.

Well… it’s that time of year again, this weekend in fact. I’m gearing up. Schedule is printed and I’m choosing my last minute ‘must-sees.’

You too can experience the Coachella Music Valley and Arts Festival this year. All you need is a few inexpensive items.

HDMI cord- this connects the picture from your computer to your TV

  • You can get this at Target/Walmart/Best Buy for around $15.00

Y Adapter – this connects the audio from your computer to your TV

  • You can get this at Target/Walmart/Best Buy for around $5.00

HDMI adapter (if you have a Mac)

  • You can get this at Target/Walmart/Best Buy for around $15.00

TV- all it needs is an HDMI hook up

Computer- to broadcast the live Coachella feed

Coachella Schedule– so you can figure out which bands you want to see, of course!

Broadcast link- The link is usually available on the Coachella website or on the homepage of YouTube.

So in year’s past, Coachella has offered three different live feeds from their three most popular stages. At roughly 5:30PM central, the broadcast begins and runs until about 2/3AM.

Invite your friends over! Pick up some fun snacks, raid those food trucks, pick up some flowers and have a craft hour making flower crowns.

I picked weeds in the yard 2 years ago when I was in college and made my own flower crown. My roommates really appreciated my green thumb.

You can have all the logistics straight, but mostly, HAVE FUN! Enjoy the music. Coachella is an amazing festival and demands to be felt. Don’t just listen to artists/bands you know. Explore. Try something new. Broaden your musical horizons. Then be sure to mention all the cool bands you find in the comments so I can check them out myself! 🙂
