Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has dropped the 2018 lineup with no warning.
No dumb teaser campaign needed here. This festival has exploded over the past few years broadcasting itself as the first music festival of the summer, queen of flower crowns, fashion and celebrities, and arrogant teens who think they know everything (thanks Jimmy Kimmel)… so no introduction is needed here.
It’s become more of a festival to be ‘seen’ at or at least tagged in on Instagram rather than people going for the music, in my opinion. I love festivals, don’t get me wrong, but the hype, glitter, and Coachella fashion trends have really turned me away from ever wanting to attend this one.
But just because I’m not paying $2,000+ in festival fees, camping/hotel, travel, and food… that doesn’t mean I have to miss out. I’m still here for the music.
For years now, Coachella has partnered with web streaming services, more recently, YouTube, to live broadcast the festival so thousands can partake in festivities from the comfort of their couch. Myself included. And that won’t change this year.

Beyoncé has had the twins so we already knew she would make her way to the Valley after backing out of last year unexpectedly. Lady Gaga replaced her with a knock out performance and debuted new music, The Cure, so not all was lost.
Here’s who is heading to the desert this year and who I’m looking forward to watching.

Who didn’t make the schedule this year? Surprised Justin Timberlake isn’t headlining after just announcing his new album the same day as the lineup reveal. Also surprised not to see new queen of pop, Dua Lipa after her record breaking 2017 year.
I can’t say I’m surprised by any of the headliners which is fine but maybe I’m just getting too good at guessing. Was hoping for a big surprise headliner but didn’t really get it.
Though the schedule itself hasn’t been released yet, this is all a bit up in the air. Chances are three of my ‘must-sees’ will be performing at the same time.
For those not familiar with my Coachella coverage each year… Reverberate Music participates in ‘Couch’ella. Want to find out how? – ‘COUCH’ELLA- HOW TO ‘DO’ COACHELLA… FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR COUCH
